Kids enjoy the new blacktop at Keowee Elementary School.
Crescent Repaves School
Blacktop
As a contribution to the elementary school serving
several Crescent communities on Lake Keowee, including Waterford
Pointe, Waterside Crossing and Pointe
Harbor, Crescent resurfaced Keowee Elementary School’s
blacktop in late October, giving children a smoother and safer
surface to play basketball, four-square and tetherball. The blacktop
is about 1,600 square yards.
Principal Ann Miller said the
school’s playground area was in dire need of a face lift,
and the children are taking full advantage of the new blacktop.
“The kids are thrilled,” she
said. “The play area was in horrible shape before, and
now we have a much nicer playing surface. We’re very appreciative.”
Meet Your Neighbors
If you are new to Lake Keowee or want to meet some of your new
neighbors, the Newcomers’ Club is a great place to start.
The club helps welcome new residents to the area and promotes
friendship, while acquainting members with the history, culture
and civic opportunities of the Seneca area.
General meetings are held at 9:30 a.m. on the first Tuesday of
each month, from September through May. No reservations are necessary.
The club meets at St. Mark United Methodist Church, located at
616 Quincy Road in Seneca. For more information about the club,

Second home buyers flock to Lake Keowee
Seneca, S.C., was recently named one of “America’s
Top 100 Places to Live,” according to Relocate-America, an
online relocation service. Home to Lake Keowee and only minutes
away from well-known Clemson University, Seneca is known for its
small town charm, friendly people and natural beauty, and now its
booming second-home market.
Second-home owners make up about half of Crescent Resources’ Lake
Keowee residents. A recent study shows that sales of second homes
in the United States surged over the past year, and that investment
property and vacation homes now account for more than one-third
of residential transactions.
